Jolly Tumuhirwe, the 22-year-old maid is currently in police custody at Luzira prison under Section 41 of the country’sAnti-Torture Act and will re-appear in court on December 8th, according to Sahara Reporters.
Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson stated that the maid confessed to torturing the child, and was subsequently subjected to a mental evaluation.
Results revealed that she was “a person of sound mind.” The child, Arnella Kamanzi, who is one and a half years old, is said to be recovering, and in good spirits.
