‘I think when you have a baby there’s like no time for any like shit. ‘Excuse my language. You don’t have time for it and sometimes I see things and I’m like, “I’m not gonna let that slide. This person was wrong” or whatever.
‘I’m feeling I speak my mind a little bit more after I’ve had our daughter. I don’t know if it’s a combination of being married to someone that’s superhonest and open and says whatever he wants whenever he wants to or just not having time really for anything else but the truth and just being real.’

Kaduna armourer arrested for selling police weapons to criminals commits suicide in cell

;Deputy Superintendent of Police Nanbol Audu, who was the officer in charge of the Kaduna Armory, has killed himself days after he was paraded with two others for stealing and selling police weapons to criminals and rich people in the state. He was paraded this past Monday October 27th
DSP Audu, an officer who had served in the police force for 30 years and was due to retire in five years, shot himself in the stomach around 5.40am today October 31st inside his detention cell at the police headquarters in Kaduna, it was announced on radio today. The state police commissioner Umar Shehu confirmed the incident
According to the state police commissioner Umar Shehu, the three men were arrested on October 20th as they tried to leave with 11 rifles that had been provided by DSP Audu from the state armory.
A search on them by other suspicious police officers revealed the stolen armory and N400,000 cash. When interrogated, Audu confessed to the crime and said he provided the guns to the men for personal protection from the Fulani herdsmen who were killing his people in Jos, Plateau state.

Omonigho Abraham, Boy Attacked By Dogs Health Worsens

News reports emerging indicates that the health conditions of our four-year-old ‘Miracle boy’ who has been recovering from the injuries he received when he was attacked by two dogs a month ago has worsened in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja where he is currently receiving treatment.
According to PUNCHMetro who spoke with his father, Odia, that Omonigho’s scalp which was torn off by the German shepherd dogs during the gruesome attack, had not healed and had been giving off an offensive odour.
He said this had given the family serious concern.
Odia also said that attempts to get the medical report of his condition had also been frustrated by some medical officers in the hospital.
He said, “My boy still complains of pains in different parts of his body. Also, when they open the bandage on his head, you will see that there is no much difference. It’s still like the first time the incident happened.
“In fact, for up to two weeks no consultant or doctor attended to him, and his head started smelling.
“We have been told he may still have to be admitted for six months or up to one year, for the doctors to do a skin-grafting surgery on his open skull. They will cut skin from parts of his body, to cover up the skull.”
He added that he had also continued to foot the bills of the boy, despite the instruction of the state government to the hospital management not to collect any money for his expenses.
PUNCH Metro also gathered that a non-governmental organisation had to raise money for Omonigho’s drugs and over N100, 000 had been purportedly spent in buying drugs, among other expenses.
The report of a fundraising for Omonigho’s medical expenses was said to have angered the management of LASUTHwho allegedly accused Odia of making money off his son’s predicament.
The father of three told our correspondent he was called into a meeting on Tuesday in which the management of the hospital promised to start implementing the state government’s pledge to the Abrahams.
He said, “The Lagos State Government, through its Ministry of Health, has already played its part by writing a letter toLASUTH that it would foot all the bills for which we are grateful.
“But when the letter got to them, they did not implement it. I was still buying the drugs till yesterday (Tuesday) that I was exhausted and I cried out that I did not have any money to buy drugs again.
“That was when the management of the hospital led by the Chief Medical Director, apologised and promised to start implementing the state government’s order.
“I have decided to wait for at least a week and see if they will change, like they promised.”
Odia said the Delta State Government and a few other people were interested in the medical report which had not been issued to him.
“The real issue I have now is that they (LASUTH) have not released the medical report which I asked for since October 16. They (LASUTH) have been directing me from one person to another and I am getting tired. If I see the report, I will know what exactly to do about this issue.”
Attempts to get the reaction of the management of LASUTH proved abortive as its Public Relations Officer, Dele Johnson, neither picked his call nor responded to a text message sent to his phone.

Chris Brown Opens Up About Drugs, Drake and Rihanna

During a revealing interview New York radio station Hot 97, Chris Brown opens up about battling with drugs and where he is in life with with Rihanna and Drake.

On battling with drugs:
“I was off the syrup, the Xanax….that’s the hood cocktail. I was falling asleep on video sets, I was cussing people out randomly. I was doing crazy stuff. I would wake up and be like ‘aye man, what time we shooting this video?’ And they would be like ‘dude we shot it yesterday.’ I be like ‘Damn!’
He then realized, “This ain’t for me. As time progressed I was like let me chill out. I don’t want to be a zombie when I meet people. Or say the wrong thing, or end up punching somebody or doing something crazy…like I did…because I was under the influence of some bull.”
His biggest demon:
“Being afraid of failure.”
On the Rihanna situation:
“Me and her, we made amends. Like, we good. She’s my friend. I knew that was a mistake I would never do again. I look back at it like I was 17-18 and I’m 25 now so I look back it like ‘dang’. And I’m still doing community service and going to see the judge every month in a half over that situation.”
On getting back with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna:
“Yea..we was cool. For me it was like a lot of it was on me trying again to pick up the pieces. I just wanted to make sure it was still there. But at the end of the day, I kinda wanted to make amends to her to show her I could be the man she wanted me to be.”
On Rihanna opening up to Oprah:
“It was a shock for me because you know, with different teams and how people’s camps work. After I saw it I was like ‘ok cool’ now she’s showing me that she care because I didn’t know for awhile. I was actually moved by it. That’s when I knew we could be friends and can talk.
On Rihanna dating Drake:
“I look at it like this. I’m content with who I am so whoever decides to move on and do their thing I was cool. I mean, I was tight, but you also have to consider that was in the ‘thug Chris Brown era’. I was in my bag. At that time I was just all about running up on dudes, when I see you it’s this.”
So does he feel like Rih started dating Drake on purpose? “She’s going to get mad when I say this but in a way I do. It’s understandable. It’s the game, we young. We do that at that age.”
On the bottle throwing fight with Drake:
“That was a ‘stick ya chest out’ contest. That’s all that was.”
On who made the initial call to squash his beef with Drake:
“Honestly, his camp hit up my management and they was like we got this opportunity at the ESPYS, we want to do a spoof. So I was like cool. They were kind of hesitant because they didn’t know our temperature between each other. But I was just like I aint got time to be looking over my shoulder and be upset. It just doesn’t make me look good. But, I was just like let’s break this whole beef thing. Let’s just do something funny, let’s make light of the situation. It just shows growth and maturity

Yvonne, who has been around for a while now has made it known in a recent interview with Encomium magazine that she doesn’t expose her boobs like her colleagues in the movie industry.
I don’t expose my cleavage, it was a photo shoot. You don’t see me walking on the street with my cleavage hanging out. It was a photo shoot. I felt I have some features that people should know of. Even with that, some people still believe that she has a lot of boobs but no behind, that is wrong.
I am coming out to showcase. I think the older I get, the more comfortable I am in my skin. You get secured, more confident with age. If I feel very comfortable showing off my curves, my cleavage, excuse me, it is my body. But I will not walk around naked. I wear whatever I am comfortable with.
The actress who left Nigeria for America for further studies immediately after featuring in 2face’s “African Queen” video.

She studied International Relations in a University in Cyprus and also made it known that she is not in anyway threatened by any of her colleagues she left behind in the movie industry. She said:
You are there, you have fame, money , good for you. I have a degree, I still have the opportunity to be what I want to be. I think I am one of the best actresses. Whatever it is that they have achieved, I can also achieve, even better. I still respect them because they are my senior colleagues, but it doesn’t change the fact that I am Yvonne Jegede. I still do my best whenever I am on set.
She however explained that her comeback has not been a rosy experience as many movie makers feel her face alone cannot sell their movies.
It wasn’t easy, a lot of people said face cannot sell movie, some will even ask if I can still act. It was one or two people that have been using me. Information travels far when you are on set, that is how a producer kept on giving others my contact.
If anybody should call and ask about the movie they were shooting and the cast, they will give me referral, that was how the word went around and people kept on calling.

Snake Bite Leaves Teen Girl With 'Black Stick' Leg, Broken Elbow From Severe Necrosis

A young girl in Caracas, Venezuela, lies in a hospital bed caught between life and death after a snake bite caused her leg muscle cells to wither away and die. The 13-year-old girl, who is unidentified, was first treated by remedies from her indigenous culture before being transferred to Venezuela’s capital city for emergency medical treatment a month later. It was there that doctors diagnosed the teen with severe necrosis, induced by the snake venom, with a grim prognosis of death — even after a leg amputation.
According to a photo posted on Instagram by the username “juventudmedica,” the young girl received medical treatment after a month of using something similar to antibiotics. The rural treatment she received most likely only is able to treat local infection secondary to the bite. The Instagram description written by Dr. Moreno Castillo, a surgeon specializing in trauma and orthopedics in the Central University of Venezuela and the University Hospital of Caracas, acknowledged the patient also suffered a broken elbow from the incident with the snake.
Dr. Arun Ghosh, a private GP in Liverpool told the Daily Mail: “Snake venom is very complicated and depends on the species of snake. But the picture shows clearly severe tissue necrosis that will need amputation. The whole lower leg is black. It’s spreading up. Looking at the rest of her body, she’s showing signs of muscle wastage from the poison. Her other leg is thin. It's likely she will still die.”
The teen’s necrosis — the premature death of cells — has shriveled and blackened her leg as it rots away. According to Medline Plus, this condition leads to an insufficient amount of blood flow to the tissue and is irreversible. This leaves the patient at a high risk for death despite an amputation due to the nature of the poison.
The teen is also battling rhabdomyolysis and compartment syndrome. In rhabdomyolysis, the muscle tissue will begin to die throughout the body, while compartment syndrome causes a decrease to the blood supply of the affected muscles. Even an anti-venom treatment which is used to stop the blood clotting, will not be enough to save the girl from the deterioration of her muscles.
In the U.S., only bites from the brown recluse spider can progress to necrosis.

Governor Fayose Reveals He Goes To Beer Parlours

According to PUNCH NEWSPAPER, The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has revealed that he goes to beer parlour every Friday in order to enable him to get close to the common man in the state.
The governor spoke with journalists in Abuja on Thursday while defending the concept of what he said to be “stomach infrastructure” introduced by his new government.
He said it would be wrong for people to assume that “stomach infrastructure” means only sharing of food and money to the people. Fayose defended his decision of going to beer parlours, saying that it would be wrong to equate governance with church or morality.
His Words: “I also go to beer parlour on Friday to stay with the common men there. Governance is not church, it is about diverse characters and you have to relate with them as they are.
;Still speaking, “Christmas is coming. Why do people go out of their ways to be shopping or doing other things if it is not just to make people merry? “So, I’m grooming chicken, buying rice, yams, plantain, and the rest of them. I am sure if I give it to families during the festive period, they will be happy. So, stomach infrastructure is a way of life.”
GovFayose said most people, who commit crime do so because they felt that life was no longer worthy of living for them and that there was no one to tell them that there was life for them. He said it was because of this that he set up a department for stomach infrastructure and also appointed a special assistant and a personal assistant on it. “So, my style without apology is that stomach infrastructure is a way of life for me, I will relate well with my people to alleviate poverty and hunger in Ekiti,” he further said

Finally! Jennifer Lopez reveals why she ended her 7-year marriage to Marc Anthony

Jennifer Lopez has candidly detailed her split with Marc Anthony in her new book True Love..
The couple who wed in June 2004 had just celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary when they announced their split..In excerpts from the book as detailed by People Magazine, the 45 year old writes..
'Anybody looking from the outside in would have thought my life was great.I had a husband and two beautiful children. I was on American Idol and my new single On The Floor had gone to number one all over the world. What people didn't know was that life really wasn't that good. My relationship was falling apart and I was terrified.'
She revealed she made the decision to end the marriage after suffering a panic attack while preparing for a photoshoot.
'As I sat there getting made up, my heart was beating out of my chest and I felt like I couldn't breathe... I became consumed with anxiety,' she writes in the tome as detailed by a Peopleexcerpt.  What was happening to me? I leaped from my chair and said to my dear manager Benny Medina, "Benny, something is happening! I feel like I'm going crazy." My mom was there and she rushed to my side too.
'It was one of those moments when you're so scared you can't even scream. In a blur of fear and panic, I looked at Benny and my mother and blurted out the words: "I don't think I can bewith Marc anymore." Then I burst into tears.
'It was out, Jennifer recalls. 'The thing I feared more than anything in the world. I collapsed into their arms and began to sob.'

She also admitted she has suffered abuse in past relationships
I've never gotten a black eye or busted lip but I've been in relationships where I have been abused in one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally,' she reveals. 'I know what it feels like for your soul to be diminished by the way your loved one is treating you.
'It took me years to figure out that, in that kind of relationship the intensity and the conflict are really coming from two people.
'Because every day you don't walk out that door, every day you accept things in a partner and in yourself, is a day that you're saying it's okay.'

Drama, as 14-yr-old suspected killer bride goes ‘dumb’ in court

14-year-old aw Wasila Tasi'u There was a mild drama at Gezawa High Court, Kano, yesterday as a girl-bride, Wasila Tasi, suspected to have killed her husband

and three others in April, failed to utter a word in court during her trial.
The high profile culpable homicide case that attracted the attention of the human rights community was nearly stalled by refusal of the 14-year-old suspect to speak.
Consequently, the presiding judge, Justice Muhammad Yahaya was compelled to enter a plea of ‘not guilty’ on her behalf shortly after the charged sheet was read and explained to her in the local dialect.
Wasila, looking perturbed at the dock, was repeatedly asked whether she understood the content of what was read before her, but each time she failed to utter a word as the court registrar ran through the four-count charge of culpable homicide punishable by death under Section 221 A of the Penal Code.
The decision of the court to enter a plea of not guilty on her behalf revived the case as the prosecution counsel, Lamido Abba Soron Dinki, offered to line up five witnesses to prove the merit of the case.
The presiding judge, therefore, adjourned the matter to November 26 and 27 to continue hearing and also ordered that the suspect be returned to remand home.

Why Some People can sing and others can't

Besides gorgeous blonde locks and a bootylicious backside, what is it exactly that sets BeyoncĂ© apart from the rest of us mere mortals? Is it natural talent, a lifetime of dedication, or top-notch vocal training? Well, to be fair, it’s most likely a combination of all three. Singing is a beautiful yet complicated art form, and although we all possess the ability to sing at some level, the ability to sing well is based on a number of physical, mental, and environmental factors.

Can We All Sing?

“The voice can be trained in just about everyone,” Justin Stoney, founder of New York Vocal Coaching in New York City, explained to Medical Daily, giving hope to all those who unfortunately have not yet mastered the ability to carry a tune. “The evidence that we have says that if you really apply good technique, just about anyone can sing well.” This is, of course, unless they have some sort of severe vocal limitation. According to Stoney, training your voice is similar to going to the gym and training any other muscle. “Not everyone is going to be a top athlete,” Stoney said, but with the right coach and lots of practice, you can surely see results.
As for why not everyone’s singing voice is as beautiful as a pop star’s? A 2012 study from the University of Montreal on what prevented those who were not musically trained from singing well found that 20 percent of people didn’t have good control of their vocal muscles, 35 percent had trouble matching the pitch of their voice to the desired musical note, and five percent completely lacked the ability to hear differences in pitch or difference between two sounds. The root of these “musical deficiencies” differs from person to person.

Why Can't We All Sing Well?

Physical

A singer is a musician no different from a guitarist or pianist — only their instrument of choice is their body. Differences in a person’s physical make up can account for differences in their singing abilities. “Everyone is sort of built differently,” Stoney explained. “For some people, you can go, ‘Wow they must really work out,’ and it turns out they never go to the gym. People have vocal atheism in the same way.” For example, the researchers of the Canadian study observed that the physiological shape of some individuals' vocal tracts resulted in a more pleasing natural voice sound than others.
There’s also a genetic factor to singing. “Different races and cultures actually have different sound too,” Stoney said. This has to do with the shape and size of the vocal chords and the larynx. The shape of a person’s skull is also responsible for the shape and size of the pharynx and the nasal cavities, a person’s natural resonators.
“If you took 10 different guitars with the same exact string, they will all sound a little different because of the size and shape. The skulls are basically the resonator of the instrument.” There has been much research on the connection of the voice and physical appearance, with scientists concluding that the sound of a person’s voice is influenced not only by race and gender, but also by gender within a race, io9 reported.
Not only does the physical appearance you inherited from your parents play a role in your musical potential, but based on a study published in the Journal of Medical Genetics, so does your DNA. The concept of nature rather than nurture was found to be associated with as much as half of the musical talent of the musicians who partook in the study.

Mental

Although our physical and genetic makeup is accountable for slight variations in our musical potential, we all have the ability to sing. Sometimes it’s a mental boundary rather than physical limitation that’s keeping us from achieving our musical goals. “When one is quite hesitant about their singing … they may be doubting themselves and thinking too hard about it,” Stoney said.
Adele, best known for her international hit “Someone Like You,” has been quite open with the mental blocks that interfered with her ability to sing. "I get shitty scared. One show in Amsterdam, I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I've thrown up a couple of times. Once in Brussels, I projectile-vomited on someone. I just gotta bear it. But I don't like touring. I have anxiety attacks a lot," the songstress told Rolling Stone.
Stoney also explained that although voice teachers provide a great deal of technical guidance for their students, one of their biggest responsibilities is also providing the singer with positive encouragement.

Environmental

Some individuals are able to develop beautiful natural singing voices because of the environment they were raised in. “There are cultures and households where singing is celebrated and encouraged, and environments where they are not. If you say [to a child] ‘You can’t stay on pitch’ or ‘You’re not a singer,’ they take on that identity and the musculature and the brain begins to not work right,” Stoney said.
Being exposed to a musical environment is also a big contributor to an individual’s singing limitations. For example, those who started studying piano or violin at a young age and then picked up singing later in life may experience better results faster based on their background in musical training. Just like the best athletes in the world, the best singers are most likely to have completely dedicated their lives to honing their craft. According to Stoney, vocal training has a lot to do with it as well.
“It’s all coming from scientific truth. That’s why it works so well. Musical training, it’s really all science.”singing
